Coosje Piening
Coosje Piening’s work grows from an undercurrent that is constantly shifting and sometimes feels unpredictable. This movement can feel restless or chaotic, yet calm at the same time and creates the foundation of her practice.
Within the movement she introduces lines and frames, creating moments of structure and direction. In this way, a quiet tension emerges between movement and order. A tension that also reflects an inner landscape where the desire for change and flow coexists with a need for stability and control.
By working with different materials and varying paint thicknesses, the surface slowly builds up in layers and relief. As light moves across the work, lines and textures subtly shift, revealing new details over time.
